James Arthur Consultancy was commissioned by a high-net-worth Saudi client to provide the family with a classical English home which incorporates all the modern features and cutting-edge technology at a sought-after postcode in Belgravia.

To meet the client’s needs and preserve as much of the listed fabric as possible, we have engaged with relevant professionals and statutory bodies to find a solution that works for all parties. It included consulting with a structural engineer on strengthening the existing structure to modernise the internal spaces. Some of the historic fabric was disturbed in the process and then successfully reinstated to its former glory. 

To overcome a spatial-fit challenge of incorporating the extensive mechanical and electrical services needed to provide a modern environment within an existing listed footprint and confines of limited floor-to-ceiling heights, we have exercised extensive and careful consideration to minimise the impact on the existing fabric.
