James Arthur Consultancy was commissioned by Maison Arslan owners to transform the antique jewellery merchants into a modern exclusive hair & beauty salon on the street of legal and historic significance.

To ensure the change of use complied with current building and fire regulations within this Grade II listed building, we engaged with the relevant authorities from the outset of the design process. With a tight completion deadline, we worked closely with the client to understand the core needs of their business. This collaborative approach allowed us to prioritise essential spaces while meticulously preserving the building’s historic fabric.

Great care was taken to preserve the intricate historic joinery, ensuring its craftsmanship remained intact. To honor the building’s heritage, select pieces of original furniture were thoughtfully restored and seamlessly integrated into the new design, blending history with modern functionality.
